After leaving a job at a large retail company 17 years ago, Nick Hanzlik (officially Rayburn Nichols Hanzlik) found himself searching for a career and a purpose. Drawing on his elementary school art training and an obsession with Paris, he began cutting and pasting. The cuts and pastes turned into whimsical and sophisticated collages, which then turned into a small line of stylish note cards, and R. Nichols was born. Over the years the R. Nichols line has grown to include other home products as well as a retail shop in Orlando, Florida. The R. Nichols Shop is 200 square feet of perfection and stunningly displays the R. Nichols collection of note cards, totes, note pads, magnets, original artwork & greeting cards. His products are sold in stores around the world.
The R. Nichols brand represents joy, innovation, clean design & packaging, and the element of surprise. Most recently he partnered with renowned fragrance designer Gary McNatton (former SVP of Gap, Inc) to create a fresh, whimsical and luxurious line of scented candles which will debut under the R. Nichols brand this fall. He lives in Los Angeles.
R. Nichols illustrated the international best sellers French Women Don’t Get Fat, French Women for all Seasons and Women, Work and the Art of Savoir Faire, and The French Women Don’t Get Fat Cookbook by Mireille Guiliano.
