Richard Haines for Theory
It all begins with an idea.
It’s no secret that Richard Haines is one of the most beloved illustrators in the fashion world, and those who know him know he can generally be found busy at work in his Bushwick studio. Lately, however, he’s been out working his magic live and in person: in September and October alone, Richard could be seen creating behind the scene pieces at the Todd Snyder show, drawing portraits at Theory, ‘live drawing’ at a Marfa Stance event, and he even made an appearance in the Tuckernuck catalogue! To immortalize the proverbial cherry atop of the cake of this fashion season, Richard captured the final moment of Chanel’s SpringSummer ‘26 collection at Paris Fashion Week. When asked about how busy and on the go he’s been, Richard replied with some valuable perspective:
“It feels good to be in demand. I love it, but I have to remind myself that self employed work is cyclical so in a few months, who knows, I could be complaining to my friends again haha!”
